craigslist Clean looking '81 in AR

No affliliation just came across this in my daily searches. Looks good from the pics and not a bad price.

Talked to him yesterday. As the ad stated, he has no motor for it. Transmission and t-case are in the back of it. He has done some body work to fix some rust areas in the floor and on the sides, but the rear sill needs attention. Says he has most of the parts for it. The catch was he lost the title.... Filing for a new one currently. On the upside, he has a 5.7 TBI for it.....

it looks amazing from the outside but def looks like it will need some work, just curious what you guys think, is it worth what he is asking for it ? any idea how much it would cost to rebuild it ?

repainted different color(red then green) no engine, some rust. trans, transfer, steering, breaks, bondo, rust questionable. its worth 2-3grand on the high end (with title) no title? = parts rig. i bought a rust Free fj40 1978 with out a engine. what it took to get it going i could have just bought one already done for less $ and with out the 1yr time and aggravation. sorry... but reality

80+ 40s are pretty rare. The owner could always request a duplicate title.
