Three 6 Hybrids picked up a new floor jack for the carport at Harbor Freight of all places. 3 ton, low profile, tall lift, long reach, lifts quick, drops smooth, rolls/maneuvers like a racecar, picks up 1/2 a hunnit by the frame with ease. It’s got about 500 grease zerks on it.

Even found a coupon that expired today that worked.

Here’s a 51 page thread comparing it to an identical $600 Chinese-made Snap-On model at over 3x the cost... Harbor Freight 3 Ton Daytona Jack Versus Snap On FJ300 Jack - The Garage Journal Board

Two thumbs up so far.

I have that jack. LOVE IT. I think it's been about a year now and it's doing just fine.

My fellow Three 6 Carport-eer @heckler hooked me up with a bro deal on a lil’ Hobart 140 welder he picked up on Craigslist for the low low.

The ground clamp looks like it looks was harvested from a set of jumper cables, so I upgraded to a pro-model clamp.

I also added the big boi 10-lb spool adapter so I don’t have to fawck around with the teeny tiny rolls of wire anymore. I’m not sure I’ve gone through ten lbs of wire up to this point in my life, so this should last me a long time.

Now I just need a new project!

You may come to regret that large spool mod unless you use it frequently. My wire gets a bit of rust on it and then doesn't feed well. I guess I should get off my ass a little more often.

Durn it! I didn’t think about that.

Just another reason to move somewhere drier ;)

Just throw all of those silica packets you get in your boxes inside the cover of the welder.

Anybody ever had the trigger go out on an impact? This keeps running at low speed when you let off the gas.

How’d you fix it? Rebuild kit?

Yeah. That’s not the normal Harbor Freight I expected Cameron would own.

Carry on.
The trick to the HF junk is to buy the lifetime warranty and trade it in yearly. Only problem with that is if you need an impact you need it right now and not after a pissed off trip to Horrible Freight.

I only buy the occasional dumb tool there. No air or electric sh!t.

That floor jack is an exception. I actually like that.

I split the difference between HF and buying a new one and got this short barreled Husky for a back up.

I’ll rebuild the IR since the new ones are Hecho en China. This one was still Hecho’d in the USA. And it’s quiet.
