Installed the kit on my fathers 78. Takes About 3.5 hours taking your time.Kit comes with every thing you need except fluid. Desmogging this so bracket wiil replace old smog pump bracket (they ask you if you are so they send which bracket you need).First remove the fender. Then remove the the pump and old bracket (you use the same bracket bolts) . Install the new bracket and pump. The adjuster bracket goes to your water pump bolt to the ps bolt.
remove the pitman arm nut and go buy a $15.00 pitman arm puller. Forget using a 3 jaw puller.
Remove the steering box and grind the rivets out and punch them through.
Install the new bracket(all bolts supplied with kit) and steering box.
Turn your steering wheel all the way in one direction and count the turns till it stops. then turn the other way half the turns and reinstall the pitman arm. Hook the supplied hoses up (ignore the length in the pic, Im adding a cooler later and will redo hoses).
Fill with fluid and start engine then cut off and fill the rest of the way. reinstall fender and enjoy P/S. Simple bolt on unit, no welding or cutting required. all brackets predrilled. :steer:

I don't think my Smog Inspector here in California would like this kit............ Just sayin'.

He ordered it from classic cruisers. I just put it in for him. You can chek their web site. All I know is he,s happy now. Hes 74 and no power steering was to much for him.

No price on their website. That's why I asked.

read closley, they ask if your going to desmog. If not they send a diffrent bracket so you can run your smog pump.

I suspect it may have been the grammatical errors which threw me off. My bad.

I think Merv is asking around $1000.00.

Wow. That's a little steep isn't it; that should come with a cooler and a flux capacitor too. I do like the dual pulley and pump arrangement. It's a very nice arrangement. I'll use that pitman puller myself this wekend as I'm working on the same mod. mintruck power steering.
