As the title states, I have a few items for my 80 Series I would like to get either powder coated or ceramic coated. I have an on-line source, but would rather not have to ship the parts.

Any leads would be appreciated.

Thanks

There is a dude on cincyoffroad.com that does it. I can't remember what the heck my psw is over there. Killer Coatings? I think is his handle.

Thanks Marty, I will look into him.

Hey Chris, Yes I have already been in contact with Kenny, sounds like a good guy.

I have a few projects in mind, first is a set of steel wheels I would like to have powder coated. The factory finish fades, then wears off much to quickly.

The second project I would like to find a solution to is having a set of factory manifold ceramic coated to help reduce under the hood temps. I have a quote from an outfit called Jet-Hot, but was trying to find a local company to have do the work.

If anyone has a recommendation for the ceramic coating, I am open to suggestions.

Thanks

there was a coatings place on northland blvd i used once about 10 years ago but i don't remember the name or know if they are still there... I wil ask around about ceramic coatings... i know some street rod/racing guys that might know somewhere...

Plasti-dip those wheels boy.

Cool, thanks Chris.

Marty...Plasti-Dip...interesting concept, I will be looking into it.

Quite a few of the kids from the civic forum use plasti-dip. I have seen some of the stuff. It looks good but it is not a permanent solution. It does hold up well though and if you don't like it you can just peel it off.

Well it's not really "local" to you but still fairly close - Swain Tech Coatings for engine piston coatings, race engine coatings, ceramic header coating, carbide metal coatings, thermal spray plasma coating, metalizing closures, spray welding

This is where I had my turbo manifolds coated since it is close to me. They make a good case/sales pitch about the 1 to 3 mils coatings being pretty much a fancy paint job (cosmetic) versus their 0.015” thick ceramic application (White Lightning Exhaust by Swain Tech for Automotive Coatings including engine piston coatings, ceramic coating services engine, automotive ceramic coating, ceramic header coating, dry film lubricant, race engine coatings, exhaust header coating).

Lots and lots and lots of discussion on the topic of exhaust manifold heat insulating on the turbo forums. But I wasn't able to find many negative posts from anyone that actually used Swain's. Good luck
