Bonnie off to Steve’s tomorrow morning.

Kel has been helping me flush tank after vinegar soak. After 4 complete fills and me wrestling it around some to rinse all the insides we drained at the new plug the old timer installed. First soak predictably had moderate amount of particulate. By 4th soak, water was clear as it could be.

Now plugged up with blower for next 2-3 hours while I watch football. Then apply the red kote, put inside Bonnie and part of that process will be complete.

Always more fun when Kim or Kel partakes and is still smiling after!

Damn nice looking Pig if I do say so myself. Anxious to see it post-upgrade to the drivetrain I would have liked to have done 20k miles ago.

Bonnie had a damn good caretaker before us!

She is also safely at Steve’s.

I’ve been wrestling the gas tank applying the “red kote”. That is a chore! Gently rolling that tank in every direction possible to coat inside for 20 minutes is a work out!

Noted a fine grey coating on inside of tank last night after blowing dry. Didn’t know what to think of it so rinsed it again with water then took outside and flushed with acetone again which is process Red kote recommends.

Radiator guy installed plug at very corner to facilitate draining tank when on end.

Oddly, Bonnie had fuel leak by time she got to Steve’s. He found it leaking from a seam. Gonna save that tank, has it repaired up here and hold onto it.

Yeah I’d say Steve has plenty of work to stay busy for awhile.

Steve texted this morning, Bonnie getting radiator with electric fan from Mosley. With added AC he has had good experience with cooling during hot Houston days so have to trust him as Oklahoma likely isn’t going to be any cooler!

Engine out, one of his employees going to use Bonnie’s old engine for his 40 project.

Guess I missed it (and tried going back, but gave up after 6 pages), what’s going in Bonnie?
Steve at Northwest Design and Fab is doing an LS3 conversion, ac install and modernizing the gauges.

Wish I knew how to change the title of thread. It’s now basically the chronicles of Bonnie and Clyde.

Always nice to find someone in need of an old 1F!

So Clyde has the crank pulley issues? I get confused easily.
It does and hoping to deal with it this weekend. Maybe should separate the two again until we get little further down road. It’s totally confusing.

Daughter leaves Friday (with wife) to go back to CSU and I have hard time burying myself in a project when I could spend time with her while she is here.

Also hesitant, you know when potential for damage is there you hate to put effort in to confirm possible suspicions. Has to be done though, hoping all is good, reinstall and keep driving!

Go to the first page, click on the pull down menu (top right) and select Edit Thread. That will allow you to change the title. You're welcome. 😂

@scrapdaddy the more I visualize this..the more it makes the most sense of any stuff I thought was too crazy to really do. I have spent much time adding sealer to very old motorcycle gas tanks by rolling, twisting and shaking them to spread the sealer into every nook and cranny.

That, when properly attached and secure, is a very nice idea 👍
