Wife went to start the GX470 and the pictured lights came up and stayed on. Im hoping its the gas cap. unfortunately im out of town so will have to wait until my FIL can scan with OBDII scanner tonight.

Wife says no weird noises, voltage seems good, car drives fine.

I have noticed the gas cap feels loose when i go to take it off at the pump. almost like its not locked on.

Mine ended up being a bad cat. Mine is still under warranty, so it got replaced, however they did think cap initially so they replaced that too.

Never thought about the Cat. It's got 170k miles on it (110k I put on) and it hasn't had any issues short of a a/c compressor (155k) and alternator (100k). So if it is the cats or basically anything else, I owe it to the old girl to fix it.

CEL= pull the code.

FIL pulled the codes and said it was an evaporator leak. He replaced the gas cap and codes cleared. Ill get the exact codes he got tomorrow and post up for others in the future. Thanks for all the input.

X3 on the gas cap, replaced with OEM and all was resolved (12 months ago). So you're still not having to spend much on maintenance :).

@TXBruiser What model alternator did you replace with? I'm thinking of changing my alternator as preventive maintenance, but still trying to figure out which one to replace with.

Got it. I ordered remanufactured Denso.
