Picked this up off the recommendation of a MUD thread and I'm having issues with the fit. I installed the brackets that came with the head unit but now the dash won't snap back into place flush.

What am I missing here? Are there specific brackets I should be using? Used the OEM brackets and it was even worse; that's when I switched to the brackets that came with the stereo.

Also, if someone could suggest a moderately priced double din that you know will fit right in, please suggest it. I've read a lot of stereo threads on here but nothing seems definitive.

Thsnks!!

I'd like to know too. My 98 LX has an alpine and does the same thing.

I have a stereo like that installed. I had to file the trim panel hole a bit until it slid around the stereo. Mine fits snugly now but looks very nice-looks factory to me. Harbor freight sells a yellow handled file set for pretty cheap. Wasn't hard, but I took my time to be careful.

Mind posting a pic?

I was thinking of cutting it with a detail razor knife.....file might be easier though. I just don't want it to end up looking like a hack job!

Interesting HVAC bezel! The one on my 01 LX curves, requiring a secondary trim piece.

I am guessing you'd like to move the head unit farther back? You can drill the holes in the mount bracket larger for more adjustability.
