Customer’s clean ‘90 cut loose, hit the oil pan and popped the spot welds.

DIY repairs (driveshaft) from the unexperienced can have dire consequences.
Factory installed driveshafts never fall off. Never.
Your right!!!, So... never never never change your worn Ujoints!

At least new pans are available.
 
That could have ended pretty bad!

Currently working on 1982 HJ60 which got previously "restored" (one hell of nightmare). When I tore apart frame and engine, there where no washers on the driveshaft and everything was let's say pretty easy to open haha.

I don't understand how people can simply not care about this.
 
Post #5 below refers to the drive shaft loop, but my rig doesn't have them...
