I’ve had my FJ62 for a few months now, put a few thousand miles on it and I’m having this issue... on most trips my dashboard check transmission light comes on, doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason, sometimes 3 minutes in, sometimes after an hour and a half. I’ve measured the temp of the oil pan with an infrared thermometer, always between 165 and 180 Fahrenheit. I replaced the A/T Fluid Temperature Sensor, and the light still goes on. Thoughts on next steps? Thanks.

First I've heard of a transmission light in the dash. The base of the gear selector has a light for overtemp and one for transfer in neutral though.. pics of said light / location?

It’s not illuminated at the moment, but you can still see it clearly next to the Phillips head dash screw.

Install a tranny cooler, if you haven't already, your transmission will love you for it.

Thats your check engine light, get out your handy dandy paper clip and check the code. It will tell you how to do this in the owners manual

Thank you. Got out the paper clip. Code 51. Been looking at MUD for info on that, looks like a few options. Any tips on the most likely culprits?
