why can't one of the big companies sell a good quality cheap bumper like Marlin's?

I'm just whining cause I dont actually want to finish (or I should say start) up the one I bought steel for months ago. I think this one by Marlin Crawler would be sweet if it were made for a 60....http://www.marlincrawler.com/htm/armor.htm#bumpers

Price is reasonable, especially compared to some prices that are out there.

you could probably have one made locally on the cheap. Remove your stock rear bumper, and take it to a local machine shop with a large brake for bending metal. have them take measurements off the stock bumper mounts and bend up a c channel like one of these. they could possible drill the holes for you.

again... not what I'm looking for.

I'm not sure how the sides would look if we followed the same style as the mini trucks. Maybe we add a plate with some flared holes in between the main tube and the upper wrap around tube. On the mini truck bumpers we have tube connecting the end of the main to the frame. This really help the side of the bumper from flex in to the body.

A bumper built for a stock application would the easiest. I'm not real familiar with how much is taken off the body when the quarters are cut. If we can come up with a standard number then we won't have any issues.

Most guys chop the quarters so that the bottom of the tailgate is even with the chop.

That day will come at some point.... not ready to there yet living here in the Pacific Northwest especially because I dont have anywhere to keep it inside during the rainy seasons. Which is all 4 seasons here in Oregon. :)

hey jim... good to talk to ya today. I thought I'd try out my skillz in paint... no one be too jealous now. :) Here's what I'm thinking(which is open to scrutiny and comment):

side protection and just below the "hoop" are the rails that would go back to the frame:

Oops forgot underneath the rocker mock up...hehehehe let me see if I have a pic that would work.

You have seasons?

Here's another shot of under the rear quarter.... you see why I had to cut that body mount out and do more tirimmin. It also gives an idea for guys who still have this body mount.

more mad skillz:
