well i need to string in some new wire here and there and everyplace i look it rediculously expensive. correct me if i am wrong but it looks like they take 14 gauge??? i been looking all over the place but like everything there is always that one website where you can get it half the price. i need about 100 feet of red and 100 feet of white and i should be good to go. it won't be factory color's but it will be hidden.

No such thing as inexpensive copper...

Try Wally-Mart for cheap. Last time I was in one getting fuses, they had a pretty good selection of bubble pack auto wire and 3M connectors at prices that were much better than the discount auto parts places.

Do yourself and your head a favor and use a few different colors than just the standard red, white and black. It's a real PITA to chase down electrical issues when all the wires are similarly colored. If the rig is worth it, splurge on a wiring kit from a reputable dealer. Everything is labeled and takes only a couple of days solid work to install. Don't become the dreaded PO!

Cruisers use the American equivelent of 18ga, 16ga, 14ga and 12ga for the harness wires. They also have 10ga for the amp meter/alternator wires.

Waytek Wire <<<< This is a link! Clickit !!! has spools of wire at a good price.

Don't buy cheap wire!

It gets brittle and cracks, fails and shorts too quickly. I have looked, and I have been unable to find wire as good as Toyota used (at any price). I actually have gone to the junkyard and pulled various Toyota wiring harnesses just to use the wire. Even after 20 years, it's still soft and pliable.

But if you're just doing a little bit, you can buy any old wire out there (I'd check the Waytek link above, if it was me).

The wire that Waytek sells is far better than what Toyota used 25+ years ago...

I can vouch for Waytek wire. It's all I use in my wiring kits. I use the GXL thin wall. Very flexible.

They have all the standard solid colors in stock for good prices but the striped wire is VERY expensive in small quantities and is special order.

I use marine grade wires in all my trucks, i prefer the anchor stuff from west marine, its not too bad of a price for what you get

X2. Waytek is the poo.

I know marine grade wire is good stuff because of it's plating but .068 per/foot . That's expensive. just regular wire has gone up so much I can hardly believe it. If I had the money though I might use the marine grade stuff and maybe the military type cannon plugs too.

well i found the ultimate price for wire today. at work they are reworking wire harnesses and they are throwing away 14 gauge wire at about 15 feet in length all different colors. it is the stuff resistant to oil and gas and well i can get all i want for free. my favorite word, FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

X2. I like using the factory colors so I can use factory diagrams.

You can pull harnesses from similar year yotas at your local yard for peanuts, and splice in same gauge and color.
