Changing Gear Shift Around

I got a friend with a inque problem you guys might find interesting. He has a mid 90's cruiser. He's a bug dude and is having a problem with the gear shifter button hitting his leg (or the other way around). Well, here's the question. Is there anyway to change the button around where it is on the paswenger side? I would think so because these where designed for oversea's sales. Has anyone sean this on a import, and if so how would you change it around? I myself have never even thought about doing this, nut this is major problem for him. He's wanting to sell it now because iof this problem.

Not a unique problem. There have been a couple of threads on this in the past. Search around for shifter, OD button, etc and I'm sure you'll come up with some info.
