Cb mount in dash

So I bought a cobra 19 radio yesterday
I decided to mount it in my dash, where my inclinometer ahould be
Tips on installing it?

I'm not sure about mounting it on the dash but I mounted mine above the rear view mirror and it turned out nicely. I'll take some pictures when I get home from work. Basically I removed the mirror bracket (2 screws) and made a little mounting bracket for the CB that had holes where the mirror mount holes are and then just reinstalled the rear view mirror on top of the cb bracket using the same two screws from the mirror. I just realized what I wrote was kind of confusing. Hopefully the pictures will help. I'll try to snap a few shots tonight.

Hi mate

Can you post up a pic of it, so we know the size of the unit.

Also make sure you wire it directly to your battery, that way if something goes wrong with your electricals you can still use it in an emergency.

if you have the pocket, and the CB fits in there...do what I did...pull out the pocket, cut out the back, put the cb in there, re-install. here's some pics...

Sorry it took so long to take pictures. I've got 9 month old twin boys that have been keeping me pretty busy these days. Here's how I mounted my CB above the rear view mirror. Pretty simple and straight forward.

Yeah it works pretty well. Easy to do with a small piece of scrap metal I had laying around the shop. Now if I could only find the time to paint it........ Haha
