Diesel cars havent caught on because the old MB diesels were smelly and smoky and that put in the typical americans mind this flawed principal: Diesel = Dirty and smelly (if MB cant make a Diesel thats pretty, who can?) (not my opionion its just the standard viewpoint)
I went and looked at Tundras yesterday at a Toyota Truck-a-thon. Impressive truck. Trouble is its a half ton, no manual trans and no diesel. They need to fix those things if they are going compete with Phord, Dodge and Chebby.
Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if either Ford or Dodge is out of business within 10 years...
