For now I decided not to get a rear bumper for my spare. So I need to find a place for it. I've heard of people carrying a spare this big underneath, so I went ahead and got a used spare tire winch because mine was all rusted out and didn't work right. I got the new winch installed, go to lift the tire and doh... won't clear exhaust piping. Since I didn't have a spare underneath when the exhaust was done, this wasn't a factor. No foresight I guess.

So for those of you running a 33" spare underneath and have after market exhaust... do you mind posting a pic so I can get an idea of how the exhaust pipe should look. Also, how close can the exhaust be ran next to the tire w/o the tire melting?

No pic for you...sorry. I think your best bet would be to run up to a muffler shop with your 33 underneath. In short order they should be able to cut & put on another piece. Won't cost much & unless you have the exhaust touching the spare you won't have a problem.

Here's a picture for you. I run a 33 under there with no problems.

My exhaust is nearly identical to the pic above, and I have plenty of room for a 33X9.50 spare.

Underneath is fine for on-road travel. As soon as you go off road, take that sucker down and throw it in the back.

Cool, this is perfect. Thank you. I wasn't sure if I would have to come out between the spring and frame, looks like I will have to.
