Carputer step one (1 Viewer)

The Centrafuse front end has an OBD-II "app" built in. Unfortunately there are no settings for alarms, or adjustments for how the info is displayed. The ODB to usb adapter i purchased included stand alone software as well but i haven't used it. I have this one, looks like on sale for $60 right now, I paid more from the same site. While researching I read many posts where the cheapo ebay units were not working well. The site i linked (scantool.net) had zero issues with their readers or customer service. No affiliation just passing on info from months of research

I have the ELM 327 bluetooth adapter from ebay ~$28. It works very well with my Droid phone. Might be something to consider for the carputer too.
