When you give the carb throttle two things happen. The accelerator pump pumps a squirt of liquid gas into the carb. The increased suction from the engine also pulls a fuel mist/spray from the main jet. Are you sure you are getting both? If all you are getting is fuel from the accelerator pump, then the main jet is likely clogged.Actually, the main jet port is spraying fuel…possibly not enough so I am going to peek inside anyway. I will try your wire technique and re-install but some of the stories i have read about the assembly of this carb almost wants me to pull it apart and inspect the parts and pieces. I am going to cut that excess shaft off.
Let us know what you find out.
