my bubble is always empty as opposed to have full. what part of the carb do i nee to check to fix this? i have already replaced the fuel pump, filter, fuel lines, sender and gas tank. does an empty bubble explain why it doesnt start with just one press of the gas in the morning anymore? tks

btw, great forum. i gained more answers reading these threads than paying the local mechanics

If the engine is running, is the window empty? Or is it empty after its been been sitting for a while? If its empty all the time, the the float or float valve in the carb isn't working correctly. If the level is good when its running but not aftere sitting, then the fuel is either evaporating or being pushed out of the bowl. Evaporating fuel can be due to a not functional carb cooling fan. If the fan is working, I'd look for a clogged bowl vent. If the vent is clogged, pressure builds in the bowl and pushes gas through the jets and dumps it in the manifold. Does it smell like gas when parked for a while?

1)loses level after sitting a while, not while running
2)yes, smells like gas before i start it after pressing gas to start and after i turn it off

what part of the carb do i need to chack? have all the toyo manuels, just a matter of terminology. appreciate quick response. toyo rebuilt carb, fyi.

If you look in the top of the carb, you'll see a tube in the primary barrel that is cut off at a 45 degree angle, right near the top. Its about 3/16" in diameter. I think this is the bowl vent. There is another similar tube in the secondary barrel with the end cut perpendicular to the first one. I'm not sure why there are two but they appear to both be plumbed into the top of the fuel bowl. They are so large in diameter that I can't imagine them becoming plugged - maybe there is a smaller orafice near the fuel bowl? Have you ever seen a technique (I've heard it called the Tennesse Tuneup) where you put you're hand over the carb intake while the engine is running? The goal is to create a large a vacuum in the carb barrels as possible without stalling the engine. The increased vacuum can dislodge blockages and create backflow in some ofthe carb passages. You might try this along with some spray carb cleaner in the vent tubes.

I know the carb is rebuilt. Usually that makes for a great starting and running truck. But it is possible that something is stilled clogged. Also, is your carb cooling fan working?

carb cooling fan works fine. im sure something is clogged. had it sandblasted and undercoated last fall. i live in ct. they spread salt in the winter. ill get a little more agressive with the carb cleaner. thanks for the help.
