I'm getting rough running and black smoke. The choke is working fine. I've come to the conclusion that there is too much gas. Can anybody give me a quick adj. proceedure. I'm no expert but will be able to find my way around. Thanks:beer:

Engine side of carb, towards read; the 'idle mix' adjusting screw is 'hidden' under a lead plug. hardest part is removing plug w/o drilling into head of adj screw..

With engine running, ensure fuel level is proper ( sight glass on front of carb) : half way (up-down) in the window.

With engine running, slowly turn screw clockwise until engine starts to run poorly, the 'unwind' 1/4 turn.

If screw feels like it's bottoming : STOP - do not torque it.
