I have doing research on 100-series LC and LATCH/tether options for the middle row seat by year. I am having a hard time getting a comprehensive list of what/how many anchors were provided by year. Slee provides a nice SPEC list for the 100's but I was hoping y'all could help me dial this in a bit easier.

Based on the Sless SPEC list child seat anchors were not provided until 2001, is this correct? If so, how many lower anchors (and location) and tether anchors (and location) were installed?

Any info provided, I will add to this posting for others to reference in the future. Thanks in advance! I have been searching for an 80 for months and may change my focus to a 100...or both.

Summary:

2001-2007: All middle row seats have shoulder straps.
2001-2007: All middle row seats have rear tethers.
2001-2007: Middle and drivers side middle row seats have lower anchors.

My '06 has latch in all 3 positions in the second row, but I'll need to update this post tonight when I have a chance to look for teathers.

As a general FYI for anyone doing space planning. I currently run a rear facing infant seat behind the driver, a backed booster on the passenger side and my oldest sits in the middle between those two seats. If I put the rear facing seat in the center position, there isn't enough room between it and the backed booster to allow that child to buckle their belt.

Does the middle seat have a shoulder strap or lap-belt only?

Check out Radian seats if anyone happens to have lots of kids and short space. The bases are narrow and can easily fit two kid seats and have an open seat (or add another kid seat if you are lucky enough to have 3 little kids).

My 03 has tether anchors in all 3 positions. I am actually trying to figure out how to remove them as I want to build a cargo platform back there and the anchors sit a bit high. My kids are in boosters so they don't use the tether anyway.

My '04 LC has LATCH in Lap and "over the shoulder" positions on the drivers side second row and the center seconds row positions. Because the passenger side second row folds up to allow access the the third row, it only has LATCH in the "over the shoulder" location. You have to use the seat belt as the primary anchor. On a related note, the LC is one of the only vehicles I'm aware of that comfortable fits three full size bucket/booster seats across the second row.

My 98 just has the shoulder straps that will not work with my new seat. I am mounting it forward facing. I will install it with the strap thats included with the car seat, it has clips on the end to clip onto the metal loops in new cars. I will attach the clips to the sewed loop where the seatbelt lock is sewn on. Its a tight loop and will be a bit of a bitch to remove it but should be fine, as it holds the lock part of the belt. I can attach the rear strap to the factory anchor in back on the floor but it will be at a slight angle. Thats all I can figure without bolting new stuff in there to attach to. Its better than how I rode in the back seat of my parents car in the 70's

Just to be clear, are you saying the drivers side and middle seats have lower anchors but the passenger seat does not?

Only two seats, 60/40 configuration (the bigger seat is HEAVY, I wish it was three seats). I will check tonight, but I believe on 02+ the two outside positions have LATCH, and all three positions have anchors, but I could be wrong.

What about lower anchors?

My '01 LX470 has tether on all three seats and latch on the middle and driver side.

It may be helpful to define some of the terminology here so everyone is on the same page. I was incorrectly using some of the terms above and had to go look it up. LATCH stands for "Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren", so saying latch when refering to lower anchors only is incorrect.

So based on this, I know my 03 has forward facing car seat tethers in all 3 positions on the floor behind the seats. I will confirm lower anchors tonight.
