Anyone out there ever have a custom canvas bed cover made for their long bed 45? As always any details / pics would be appreciated. I'm in Denver if anyone has any local leads for fabrication. Thanks in advance. :)

I think MAF had something going with CanBack, the company that makes all the kickass truck bed tops. Spendy, but quality. Been awhile since I check tho. IIRC, they were ~$1700.00.

Ehsan in Pakistan makes them. I can't recall what it cost, but it was the canvas cover and the bows for over the bed. He has the cab top in canvas too. Uber cool.

I made my own for my 45

just got a canvas tarp(that was very close to the bed size), added a bunch more gromets(at marine store) and then threaded some bungee cord thru all the gromets, the bungee then hooks to the bed hooks. think I paid $20 for the canvas tarp, $10 for the gromets and tool

really cheap, had it on for 5 years and its still going strong.

I thought you were asking about a canvas canopy for the bed.

This is what I was describing, the pics are from a TLC resto, but Ehsans is similar:

Landpimp, How do you address the front of the bed where there are no hooks and around the headache rack? Is it pretty taut or does it buck during higher speed driving?

high speed driving.................its a 45 :D but yes it doesn't go anyplace at all......even at 80mph

but I ran the bungee(one really long one) on all 4 sides(thru gromets), I used 2 straps(like you use to hold crap on a backpack) to attach to the bottom of headache rack. Behind the cab I have a box, hi lift, water can and shovel.

it works really well and becuase of the bungee I can stick alot of crap under the tarp and it still stays put.

cheap, easy and effective.....and don't look half bad.

Landpimp - what kind of wheels?

Sorry bout the hijack - Landpimp - I like the wheels on your 45 - was gonna put Outlaw 2's on the LV, now reconsidering...

Where'd you get em?

I'm planning on making one like the TLC resto, but probably with 1 window on the side. The one I like is the one Rob (Radd Cruisers) had posted up a while back. I have a few pics of that one some where. I have a pretty good idea of the boat track hardware that was on that one on the bed and plan on copying that, few pics of that one.

Hopefully I'll get to that soon, but probably next winters project.

I ordered a custom canvas tarp online today based on the bed measurements. I'll let you all know how it goes. I think I have some great "no drill " mounting ideas. Will share if I succeed. Will cry if I don't. Thanks for the help! - Cheers.

Step-by-step picture-mentary would be much appreciated.

I'll definitely hook you guys up with pics. I just have to try to not embarass myself too much. I end up with a lot of good ideas in "theory" but application is a different story...we'll see.
