Most of the places that supply big trucks and off road equipment have them. Finning, Inland Kenworth, etc.
The heavy duty bulbs made for Volvo off road equipment are very good.

Here in Fort St. John, had the same problem, Napa got them for me, but they were pricey, so I tried Kennworth, said they couldn't help but suggested Cat, which was next door. Girl in the parts department said it was no problem, and they had them in stock. I posted the part number for the rear 24V brake/running light in the thread on part numbers.
Cheers,
Deny

No problem at Lordco in Squamish - they had them in stock. maybe your local shop should try looking them up...

:shotts: Go into Lordco and give the lazy ass a good floggin cause whoever you talked to was just too bloody lazy to even look. Your bulb is probably in stock or at least it is in there computer and paper cats. In Abby, if they don't have it in their stock they can get it from one of their other stores within 3 hours. Also, many good electrical supply places can get any auto bulb you need - 12 or24 volt. Friesen Electric here said they could get me any 24V bulb as long as I had a number. Best to order one or two extras to take with you. I always have a complete set of extra bulbs in the truck.

I find the best thing to do is to go into Lordco with the part number. Look up the part number on Hella's website for example. Also try Toyota. I've gotten many different types of 24V bulbs at the dealership

Aviation suppliers also have plenty of 24 VDC bulbs to select from and often lower priced that automotive or truck shops

Honestly, go to Toyota Dealership Parts Department.... I had to replace almost every bulb in my truck and I looked all over prior to going to the dealership and really I don't know why.... I went there and they were dirt cheap (I think $2) per bulb.... no hassles, they had them the next day for me....

Sometimes I think we complicate things by not trying OEM first...

Generally speaking, many of the parts stores are staffed by very inexperienced people who haven't really got a clue. I deal with these people many times every day, and it's really frustrating to have to educate them about what they have in stock...

Lordco will have 24V bulbs, likely in stock. Napa will have them, may have to get them from their DC in Langley. Gorge Auto Parts is staffed with real old-timer car buffs and they will be very helpful too - faster and better service than standing in Lordco for hours waiting for the kid behind the counter to figure it all out. Most of the other parts stores will give you as good, or often even better pricing than Lordco on similar items (mind you, quality is highly variable among the different vendors [read: price point is not always the best thing to shop for])

If you want knowledgeable service for truck parts, P&R Western Star is great. They are just down the road (northerly direction) from Lordco in Victoria. Oh, and you could have gone to the Key2 which is right next door to all the neon and chrome (ie: don't get too dazzled by all that "big city, bright lights") at Lordco.

.

x10 I went into the dealer to get a glovebox lock. No deal Im told, you have to buy the whole glovebox door and hinges for $117.
I reluctantly order one in because I know the ones wreckers have are all scratched and dented.
When It arrives and I go to get it,theyve sent me a dark grey one with no lock:rolleyes:(dunno what 70 has a dark grey dash)
I point out to another sales person the problem and he just says I will get you lock from the store and 2 mins later appears with what I wanted in the 1st place for $40.

If it looks like the person behind the counter doesn't know much, then it is a pretty good change you're right. At Crappy Tire you can be sure they know nothing. Go with what Upsidedown says and stick with quality. I'd rather pay $2 more for something I that will take a beating before it needs to be replaced. Mexicans have a saying: "lo barrato sale carro" (cheap stuff turns out expensive).
