finally got the 78 fj55 donor running today. the power steering is factory and definately an assist vs. full on gm style. will the factory ps pump power a saginaw gear box? also, how do you tell if a transmission is "sloppy". the truck has 151K and it shifts fine, no grind, no prob. with syncros. but it has been a long time since i have driven a TLC so not sure it the trany is suppose to be pretty sloppy. it pretty much just clicks right into gear, but a porsche it aint.
