so my inner axle seals have been leaking bad so i took them apart to find the problem. Well, my axle is worn down where the seal sits. Is there any way that i could weld on it and then grind it back to spec or do i just need new axles? if you have had this problem let me kno what you did. thanks

Speedy Sleeve?

its a super thin sleeve that goes over the wear area. If this is the front axle, get the marlin crawler seals, they seal on a different area of the axle shaft.

it is the front. i just put the marlin seals in today but i have a lot of play in the axle now?

The seals (OEM or Marlin) don't locate the axle shaft. They simply seal the end of the axle tube around the axle shaft to prevent gear oil from mixing with the knuckle grease and making a big sloppy mess. The axle is located by the bushing on the inner surface of the spindle and the drive plate.

FWIW, brand new OEM inner axles are reasonably priced through American Toyota or Sierra Toyota. Just bought a pair.
