Your right that bumper is a POS you should drop it off at my house and start over from scratch.
BTW could you mod it up to fit my 100 before you drop it off?
I've researched small trailer wheels a bit and the spindles are pretty cheap to replace. Your wheels are 6 on 5-1/2" right? If you go with a 3/4 ton I think you can get spindles/hubs that will match.
2 items never re use a center pin, and don't forget a bump stop since the distance to the frame is now so much greater, not that the springs actually flex that much.

Howdy! Come on now, any spring will articulate nicely at the right speed, with the right weight, if the bump stops are moved and the shocks are changed out, and you swap out the wheels/tires to be spares for your rig, but you might have to take out a leaf or two, if you don't go to coils from a Bronco II or longer leafs from a Chevy, but you might have to move the hangers. What's so hard to understand about that!! John
Ok this thread is a few months old but I will answer anyway. Most likely your newer trailer has a dexter axle and you can order a "kit" to spring over the axle. It bolts right in and is a simple deal. I did this and it helps with clearance and leveling with a lifted truck. I am now trying to figure out if I should buy some used cheap 5 bolt J@#p wheels for the trailer or find three matching 80 series wheels and swap out the hubs for a 6 bolt pattern.
fwiw although My perch bolts on It will need to be welded when i install a lift block. Sounds like you are on the right track. (Good chance we did talk at s&t.)
Koffer has done a couple with no problem and can get hubs to fit the trailer with landcruiser wheels
Landcruiser wheels would be styling but this is a tent trailer not an off road military trailer. It is too big and wide and heavy for serious trails. The tires will probably always be smaller than the tow vehicles tires which makes me admit there is no advantage to having matching wheels other than style points. If it were a serious expedition trailer then I would be able to justify matching wheels and tires but this is not that type of trailer. It sucks to be on a budget. I will probably opt for a 235 r15 wheel/tire combo that will minimize the need for much more modding of the trailer but will still be a big improvement over the stock wheelbarrow tires.
