New to the 200, but have a question as I familiarize myself with the new rig.

I have been reading about the OEM front spacer to even out the truck and after seeing some before and after pictures, it looks like my truck has a spacer, but it is different than the OEM part and setup.

To continue the question, I want to go back to the OEM stance (while keeping any spacer lift in the front) by adding the appropriate spacer to the rear to give me back the stock stinkbug, but with the minor lift from the spacers.

Here is a picture of the front spring mount. Note that the two front threads look stock length (with the OEM spacer these are much shorter after install), but the stud from the shock mount looks dropped down below the oem position. I assume whatever I have essentially drops the whole assembly down toe keep all the same shock stroke length?

I’d rethink the plan to keep that spacer in place. The 10mm unit is engineered by Toyota to work with the stock system, meaning bump stops and all. Any more spacer and you run the risk of bottoming the shock out before adequate bump stop contact. That is a really bad thing to do to your shocks.

I appreciate that, but I'd like to know what I have installed before I make any plans. I am weighing replacing this with the OEM spacer, or if it won't work the way I want, just moving to an aftermarket suspension system.

Does anyone recognize the spacer I have installed? I am out of town but will try to take better pictures after I wash the undercarriage (Pictures were taken after a drive to a trailhead).

I agree that's not an OEM spacer setup with stock studs. Looks like a spacer that is almost 2x the thickness of the OEM spacer. With pretty long studs. Possible that someone installed a taller Tundra spacer lift as those can fit too.

You probably already found this but here's a thread/link that has pics of the stock spacer and stud length after install.

Yea

,

I looked at the link and it appears the pre-install bolt length is similar to mine. View attachment 2457187

It looks somewhat like the skyjacker 2” kit but doesn’t seem to be quite as thick. One giveaway is that the upper studs align with the originals, whereas most of these thicker spacers have them offset. That means they’d have to either replace the stock studs which means disassembling the whole strut assembly (unlikely, a major point of these is to be easy to install), or put some kind of stud adapter on top of the stock ones. The skyjacker part does that.

Here’s the instruction sheet for those if you want to take a look: https://skyjacker.com/72d0c547-8e02-4df8-856c-186ec867c4d9

Personally I’d be trying to narrow it down by checking the thickness of what’s in there.. I have a machinists ruler which would be perfect.. though lots of other stuff would work.

Thanks. I'll look into that. With everything I've been reading now, it looks like I need to start investigating a new suspension as the stock height is too low for me and how I want to use the truck and the spacers seem like a shortcut for any appreciable lift.

Keep in mind that I don't want to bring the front up with the OEM spacer as I like the original rake on my trucks. Some like a more level stance and that seems to be the motivation for he OEM spacer installation.

Does this all sounds right or am I missing anything?

Yes, most people try to reduce rake.
Sounds like a solid plan.

I will say that if the rear will get lifted a similar amount you’ll probably want to look into panhard correction to avoid some odd driving dynamics over bumps.
