More wow! You driving it to work tomorrow?

On the home stretch!

So with the drum brakes, are you just keeping the FJ60 master cylinder?

Time for some jumps!

Not tomorrow, but *hopefully* some time this week.

Now it's down to swaybar, brake lines, fuel lines, swap MC's (I'm using the donor) and bleed the brakes. And a couple of little things need replaced on the front (spindle, tie rod, drag link).

Oh, and I started cuttin' on the sliders. I want the tube to stick straight out so it can be used a step.

This is pretty much necessary or I'm not sure I or especially, the rest of the family, will be able to get in & out easily.

I got one knocked out fairly painlessly.

I broke out the good coat hangers and overcharged the battery for the sliders since they'll be visible :D

Master cylinders...

Which port is which? Does the 'F' and 'R' happen to stand for front & rear? (Edit: in this case, yes they do)

Do I need to wait until I get a gasket (between MC & booster) before pulling mine? The 80 gasket ripped. It's just paper... What is it sealing? There's not any fluid right there.

Make a gasket out of a paper bag, it will be fine.

The original 60 MC didn't even have a gasket, so that's how I put the new one back.

We ran into sme technical difficulties with the paint booth and had to abort the mission. The second coat of paint started crinkling shortly after it was applied. Same paint as the coat before. I use this paint a lot and have never had this happen.

So, we punted and moved on to the rear sway bar. By turning the brackets/ball joints around on the bar, they match the width of the 60 frame almost perfect. I drilled a through-hole and surface welded a nut to make up the slight difference. Continuing with the technical difficulties theme, I ran out of wire on the first bracket. But it's figured out.

I went in to get a sympathy beer to wash away the pain of the TDs, and on the way back out I saw the new stance - I got a little chub and forgot all about the slight setbacks.
