Almost!

I spent yesterday doing the last bit of welding and then priming/ painting everything. Swaybar, sliders, new tie rod/drag link, and the frame. The main things left are bolting on the sliders, re-doing the brake & fuel lines, and swapping out the fubar'ed spindle.

You mean the City of Memphis' trash. Not sure about that imagery and symbolism Cameron.

I meant City of Memphis' recycling program. My truck has turned into a rolling recycling exhibit.

I'm adding "Sustainability Expert" to my LinkedIn profile.

It's always the little things that take me the most time. Like this $&@?'in e-brake cable. I wanted to get it out without cutting is but couldn't slide it out of the housing at the body.

Finally figured out to compress the fingers (13mm is perfect) with an open ended wrench (hammer it on), then use your Toyota chisel (thanks @beno) to hammer it through the hole.

This is what you are trying to compress...

I could have saved you time and frustration having just done this on Thursday.

That spring collar is a bitch but it has a weakness-It's ring is open at the top. If you pry it open about 1mm, it pops over the head of the cable itself. Doesn't even damage the clip and done in 10 seconds. You gotta learn it in the SoHK though. Good going.

While your shining things up, are you diving into the winch too?

THAT is funny. Cam is the poster child for why you should buy a good winch. Hopefully he will come back with something better (recommend Warn) . Other than the FJ-68 that is, which is awesome.

Something like this:

Warn Industries - Jeep, Truck & SUV Winches: 9.5xp

Just a few extra shifts done by Mrs FJ60Cam and he's there.

I have an M8000 if you want it. I can bring to Roundup and drop it off on my way back to ATL. It's never let me down and I have abused it heartily.

If Cam doesn't claim it, I will.:D

Uhhhh.... yeah! I'd be happy to continue the abuse!

Is that what winched you out of the quicksand in Arch Canyon all those years ago? If so, it's tested and proven.

I got closer today. Still not done though. It's fighting me every step of the way on the last stretch.

Sliders are back on. New steering rods are on. Brake lines are connected (used my old extended line from the frame to the axle), and the fuel lines are figured out (just need to get a new longer section if I can't find any in my stash).

I still need to break out the welder one more time to weld on a stud to mount the fuel pump and one for a brake line bracket.

Should have something(s) cool to show off tomorrow (more sponsorship loot).

Oh, yes. That epic recovery. I had temporarily forgotten. And the recovery was just part of the story.
