Thanks. It's just one of those things like you hear about on bad tv. They cut something out a few months ago and assured him it was not cancer. That everything was fine. But he never got better after that surgery so he went to a specialist.... And then another and another. Now this. They don't even know what it is yet. supposedly tomorrow they will be able to tell him what's up and what the plan is. But he has been hearing that for over a week now.

I feel bad bailing on this trip especially since I put my foot down on the date....

I know the feeling. in '08 I was sick, then well, then worse, then well, then almost dead, then pulled through. Hang in there.

Kaits dad was just diagnosed with cancer. He is going to a mayo clinic in Mn. If he is back in Il by this weekend we are going to go up there since we both already asked off work. If they keep him in Mn longer than they said I'm not sure what we will do.

I'm not in on this ride but just wanted to say.... family first. Both of my parents dealt with cancer.

Take the time to do whatever needs to be done.....

Good luck, sorry to hear of the family issues.

Man.... This is a hobby it should always take a back seat to family...
For all the reasons to bail this is one you should never feel bad about. Even if you had planned the trip and had folks were depending on you to be a trial giude you should feel bad....

Cancer sucks.. Mayo clinic and some of the other specialty hospitals are good places to be though, they can do amazing things. we will be praying too..

Sorry to hear this Zack. Thankfully he is in the right place. My mom, two aunts, and first cousin have all survived cancer - Mom four times over. Medicine in that area has advanced so much in the last 10-15 years that it is unbelievable. We'll be praying too.

Thanks Yall. If anything changes Ill let you know. I was really looking forward to this trip. Hopefully everything goes well and these kinds of trips can happen more often.

10 day forecast shows won't be getting too cold (low around 40). Cold enoughnthatbitnwill make you miserable with out the right equipment though...

Let's get some details..... Who's coming and when....I can be there by 10 on Saturday morning if others are wanting to get a start that early.

I need to hear some times as I now have 1 that is supposed to have baseball practice at 3 that day. My initial plan was to leave B'ham about 7 am and leave about dark.

Anyone know how long it takes to get there from B'ham?

We had planned to either leave Friday night and spend the night or early Saturday morning and get down there around 10am. It really depends on what time my brother gets off of work on Friday and what kind of mood the kids are in. Is anyone else planning on camping more than just saturday night?

typed badly on my iPhone using IH8MUD

Wish I could make it

All I have heard since I mentioned this to my son is "When is the camping trip?".
I want so badly to be there with you guys, but the cruiser is oozing BIRF SOUP from the knuckle on the DS. Just don't trust it to be in a remote place right now. I have been gimped up with back problems for a couple of weeks, so I haven't been able to address the problem yet. Have a good trip and we can make the next one that I know is coming up soon. (Spring Camp out and Ride?????)

If it's a slow leak then I wouldn't even worry about it.

I'll be there saturday morning or around lunch depending on when people will get there.

Are you guys running 33s, 35s, what? I'm on 38.5s on my FJ40 but if no one is running big tires then I might as well just drive my 80 series on 285s and have a heater...

I think Matt is the only "big tire" truck...
I'm on 285s

Depending on the # of people I could cook breakfast for everyone Sunday...
Matt let me know if regular breakfast stuff would work for you..

we will cook our own breakfast because one can't have milk or eggs but they won't have any problem being around it since its not as serious as peanuts for her.

Any one scared of a little rain?

So just a few more days... I will be up there about 10 on Saturday I will be on channel 7 on the cb..

Does anyone know if the have firewood there...
If not does anyone have access to a good supply...
Can we cut our own?

I think its time to get a real head count and a meeting time/place...
I am going to try to be at the campground around 10:15...
I think its roughly an hour and a half drive from Birmingham.
So post up... If your coming... What time will you be there and how many are coming with you...
