We'd like to spend a leisurely 2 days driving and sight-seeing along the WRT before CM2007 starts up. Could someone point me to a campground list, and a map showing the campground locations? Reservations are needed and I'll probably have to specify where I want to camp. Thanks.

Go here. Everything you need to know, with a map. http://www.nps.gov/cany/

You must have reservations from the park service. There are only a few camp sites. The Murphy ones and White Crack are the coolest, but it's all awesome. Call the park service today-those sites go fast that time of year, taken by MTB tour groups.

Vince,
Another RS member and I are planning to do it mon/tues. before moab camping at layraynth (sun)and either murphy or white crack (mon) depending on availibility and then maybe Airport or Shafer

Maybe we'll see you on the rim.. if not definatly moab ;)

For those folks with roof top tents, can you camp anywhere or must you camp in designated campgrounds only? Just curious...

Designated sites only.

Just talked to one of the Canyonlands rangers about permits - Nothing available prior to Cruise Moab. In fact he said that the White Rim is pretty much booked solid for the season. :frown:

Maybe next year. :)
