long story short
they sent us the wrong tranny
we finnally got the "right one"
there was no interals in the tcase so there was no conection threw between them
when we went to do finaly assembly shafts a few inches longer then it hsould be
we call them and georg they both say to cut it down which we did
except they put a 4l60e shaft in it vs a 700r4 shaft so the splines were rolled not cut
so we call art carr since its sstill to long and bottoming out because of the rolled splines they tell us were fxxxed and do it locally
i get the right shaft from aa and have it done locally
the shop that did it is a highly respected dezert tranny they do almost all the corr truck trannys
they said it didnt seem like a 3k tranny so i call art carr and ask hey is it possible thats no my tranny they throw a big deal and say they are noting in my file that i had work done locally and tranny is now voided
blah blah blah a bunch of people on pirate post up having same if not worse problems with them and then we take it out and it blows up everything pretty much now im getting s*** on pirate from some reason

if you posted their email and 10 or 20 guys sent them an email or two, I'm willing to bet you'd get what you paid for from them. might make things a little more vocal but it will kick them in the pants and help them honor their products and stand up to their fxxx ups.

Matt...so from what I gather in order to sum it all up for those just checking in (correct me if I"m wrong), these guys sent the wrong Tranny and you guys tried using it and it F'd a whole bunch of internals up. Just skimmed the novel on Pirate.

The tranny shop that put the new AA shaft in. Did they notice anything that would have made the tranny "blow up"???

fwiw, if and when a transmission shop does an output shaft swap on a new trans, they would generally not go thru the trouble of double checking all the clearances and components. this would take at least two to three times as long as it takes to swap the shaft out. a lot of the parts would come out "component style", not piece by piece. the same goes for the valve body. on a th700 it does not have to be removed to replace the output shaft so it would not be checked. even if it was removed, there would be no reason to look at all 14 valves to ensure their proper function.........

so if a builder is gonna replace a shaft in a brand new art carr trans, i doubt he'd be double checking their work unless specifically asked to do so.
