Greetings:

A customer of mine purchased the High End TrollHole Design Soft Top with Magnets and a full set of bows for a 1981 FJ40. He had the bows powder coated in gray. He ended up selling the FJ40 without ever installing the soft top so this is all still in the wrapper. The top is light gray, with darker gray trim and black undersideIt and is made from Sonnendeck soft top material with a Black Dobby backing; along with Sunbrella edging and 316 stainless D rings. It's the Trollhole Magnet Top with Crystal Clear windows so no straps or footman loops are needed. Here is the writeup Marshall did about the top -> High End TrollHole Design Soft Top with Magnets - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/high-end-trollhole-design-soft-top-with-magnets.813373/

Original Cost $4,590 plus shipping (Top $2,840, Bows $1,250, Powder Coating $500)

Your Price $3,695 plus shipping from Northern CA

If interested please PM me and I will hook you up with the seller.
Thank You,
Greg

New bows and the canvass top usually go for about $2600 together? Why are these so much more expensive?

You can get a soft top cheaper but not this magnetic top from Trollhole. It's top of the line. The best top money can buy. You can see the receipt for the top alone was over $2800. The bows are from Real Steel ($1250) then you have to pay for the powder coating. You get what you pay for. The Cruiser this was purchased for was high end as well.

Not sure. What modification are you referring to? Is it outlined at Real Steel or somewhere where I can take a look?

The door frames have to be notched and leaned in a few degrees on late model trucks … unless they changed to design.
I believe a installer asked the owner of real steel about that issue since you have to remove a inch of material from the center bow to get it to work.

I spoke with Todd Ogino at Real Steel - ‭(847) 224-3408‬. He told me that he has only encountered ONE customer whose FJ40 bows required a tweak (leaned in a few degrees) to fit correctly. There may have been some anomaly with this particular truck. We don't know but I think you can rest assured that the bows and top I have listed for my customer here will fit any 79-84 FJ40 with little or no modifications. Thanks all for your comments!
