Three questions re Overland build for my white 2025 LC250 1958 edition:
Choosing between:
A) C4 Lo-Pro front + Dissent rear
B) Dissent front + Dissent rear
I need the front bumper so that I can add a winch.
And C), I need the rear bumper mostly because I need a tire swing out and am not sold on the hitch mounted swing outs. Dissent seems to be a top contender, along with the heavier Expedition One, and SLee tells me that they are still deciding whether they'll produce a rear bumper for the LC250 (sounds likely but will also likely be heavy).
Any reviews or comments on the Dissent rear bumper with tire swing out are welcome.
As for A) and B), who’s run either the C4 front or the Dissent front?
Let me know your impressions of:
• Build quality
• Functionality
• Effects on weight & MPG (C4 adds 10 lbs. & Dissent adds 115 lbs. up front, by my calculations, including estimated weight of removed OEM materials)
• Looks—does the C4 insert clash/stock bumper look clash with the look of the high-clearance, more sleek Dissent rear?
• Real-world pros / cons: winch access, sensors, rattles, customer service
Rig: 2.5″ lift, 35″ Falkens on Method 316s, Toyota stock roof rack, currently planning to add Westcott sliders and Slee aluminum skids. Haven't decided yet about an awning and RTT.
I'm concerned about growing curb weight and how ride and braking and MPGs will be affected. I already lost 3-4 MPGs when I added the lift and tires. Not the end of the world, but not ideal given the small gas tank.
I'm fairly new to this sort of build so appreciate your taking time to respond. Just learning as I build out a rig for overlanding and camping.
Pics or quick impressions appreciated—trying to decide if the matched Dissent front is worth the extra weight + $. Thanks!
