Buy from Slee or save some money?

that is classic dan,
i'll have to remember that one.

sometimes i'll tell the ones who are complianing about the $$$$

i'll say "i'll give you the part if you pay my mortgage"
they usually stay quiet after that ;)

I've found that the time I waste getting the wrong parts or bad service can easily run hundreds of dollars, so a 10% difference with someone I trust is well worth the extra expense.

When I was building my 80, I sourced a lot of used parts from members here, and have only picked up a couple of things from Slee, however, the service I did receive was top notch!

As he's posted before and from what I've learned from conversations with Christo, I think the thing that bothers them the most is when people call them for help with stuff that they didn't sell them OR when people "mine" their expertise to determine what they should get, then go elsewhere -- that's a waste of their time...and as we all know...time is money.

Doug,
You don't know HOW TRUE that is! If Slee tells you "XX is the right part not YY" didn't that just save you alot of time, hassle and $$ the "other vendor" didn't?
If you're price shopping, fine but I think "mining" info and then buying elsewhere is pretty sleazy.

I do know Slee Offroad is a class operation from personal experience. Overall, I do not consider them expensive for what they offer customers.

Try and lock me out, ya bastid. :flipoff2:

I just got my second order from liquid. Both took far longer than I thought shipping should have taken. During the first I called and was told I would get a call back with a tracking number. That never happened. I called back and was told they were waiting on some part. The parts eventually came.

I ordered again, athough I considered ordering from Kurt. If LOR hadn't called back before Kurt answered the phone that day, I probably would have. I ordered the parts on the 13th or so. I needed to get them in before I left for Texas. I was talked into getting more expensive parts because they had them in stock and I would not have to wait for the ones I wanted.

They showed up today. The guy wants his truck back and I can't get it done before next week because the shop is closed through the 4th. I will probably lose the job.

When Slee tells me they are going to ship that day, I get the parts within a few days. That's worth 10%. When I call with a question, Ben or Christo gives me good advice. Robbie's advice on the list is worth it's weight in gold.

Now enough beating of the horse
