On the fence about flying out and picking up (cheap) a damaged '99 I've found. Owner has had it for 9 years. Gently rolled DS over onto a snow bank and crushed in the front fender, dented in about 18 inches of roof pillar, DS passenger door dented in, and rear quarter panel is crinkled in. Aside from that it's in great condition with only 155K miles on it. Even called and spoke to the guys mechanic.

They towed it out and he drove home fine. Been driving it for over a week without any issues. Bought a new car and is just looking to move the cruiser along to a new owner. Rock river green with dark grey interior.

Go get her?!?! :meh:

Are you looking for a cheap DD, trail rig, or have hopes of fixing this one to pre roll over condition? Repairs could get $$$ real quick when A, B, or C pillars and roof are involved. Any glass break in the roll over? If its mechanically solid that great, but it would have to be really cheap if it has major body structural damage down one side of it.

Pist pics if you get it!!

Yeah...all depends on what you're gonna do with it

Has leather and rear locker. Detailed pics and it doesn't look like any structural damage. Worst of it looks like front DS fender. But it's not crushed into the engine bay at all, just the fender itself. Because it's such low mileage my plan was to just repair it as I go and keep it for myself long term. I can find a front fender easy. And all doors open and close correctly. No windows busted and airbags didn't deploy. Windshield did crack a bit though.

The damage to non-bolt-on pieces (roof over doors and quarter panel) would probably scare me off.

Replace the side mirror, corner light, front fender and have a paintless dent removal guy "do the best you can do" on the rest of it and call it good enough. Looks pretty nice otherwise.

I was ok until I saw the big dent on the roof panel. It's a tough call.

But only 155K on the rig.

I need and want it. Seems like a good deal because of the miles and condition. Paint less dent repair sounds like a good option from everything I've researched.

It's going to be a haul getting her back though. I'm deciding if it's worth the time and effort.

Depending on price it might be worth buying to part out. I could go either way on the damage.

Im no dent guy but it looks like that roof dent can come out. It won't be perfect but won't be that bad. Call a local to you dent guy and ask if you can text or email them the pic for thier opinion if thats your biggest hang up.

If it's cheap, go for it. Just know there's a handful of 200k mile '98/99 LC/LX's for sale within 500 miles of me (in range of you in GA) for $7500 and under. So, factor in travel cost to go get it, plus repairs and see where you come out money wise and determine if it's worth buying that one with 50k fewer miles.

Windshield crack is a clue the pillars may have shifted. Damager to 1/4 panel & roof is a deal killer for restoration, in my book. I rather buy mechanical issues or even not running with bad leather. But appearance is important to me and for resale.

At right price I'd buy for parts. But I'd not pay much as parting out takes years, space and work.

So where is it at and how "cheap"? Not trying to poach here but I'm interested if you pass.

PM directly maybe?

Cheers!

Body work can be very expensive (because people are willing to pay to have their toys look perfectly ) but i reality beside leaks at the doors, rattle, you can just ride the way it is..

All and all this are very well made trucks I will buy a used blind forded after a quemical compound inspection on the engine (that really. matters)

I kinda lean the other way, I can swap out a bad engine, body work is an art form and I have no talent for it. I'd be much happier buying a cruiser with a hole in the block and a rod sticking out, than one that needs bodywork (beyond a couple of bolt on pieces).

how much is it is the million dollar question, you can talk and opine but w/o knowing the $'s involved we're just passing the time here...
