Saw this pop up on my Alerts again and I re-read through it, realizing I kind of disappeared a bit and left some questions hanging. So...

Price. I got the set of bushings free from a buddy who worked with Whiteline at the time. I'm sure that may have tainted my objectivity a little, but the ride really was great. I know the later black Slee bushings were made by Whiteline and people seem to be pretty happy with them, so price those if you don't have a Whiteline dealer near you. Whiteline also sells online now, and their prices are pretty good.

Update on the front: I never did the front bushings, as other problems with the truck jumped to the front of the line, so no report there. The only other bushings I did get to were the sway bar bushings. I ended up just using OEM rubber for those, as the Whiteline set I got was for the wrong bar. Another huge positive difference. Wish I had done it all sooner. I sold the 80 last spring, so no idea how they have continued to work. I gave the uninstalled front bushings to the new owner, so maybe he is enjoying them now. No idea.

Did the bushing replacement on my land rover disco...not a job I'd wanna repeat...replaced with OEM rubber...60 ton press and sockets getting launched isn't a good time....truck rode mucho better for it...
As my cruiser sits now I'd tackle it...but the ride seems good enough for me given the big mud terrains....in the near future I'll jump on it

totally agree with this, I need to replace a few bushings and am going to just take the rods to a machine shop and have them do it, I h8 using my 20 ton press.
