What did I do and what should I do?

May have gotten some water under the hood.
Had a battery die. Got new one. New one died too.

FOUND THIS.
1.) Is that capacitor part (replaceable)
2.) Would it cause the alternator not to run? Meaning if I replace that Is there a chance the alternator itself is fine?

You can get the alternator tested at a shop. Its a common procedure.
Alternators definitely don't last forever. Yours probably died of old age.

When you were changing the battery, tightening or loosening the Positive, did you hit the alternator or a ground?

Check your Fusible link now, too.

That Capacitor is replaceable, but as OSS suggests, I'd take it to a shop and have it tested. That's a pretty bad sizzle.

Anything is possible. All the things seem to have hit me at once rn. Radiator leak, broken speedometer cable, battery / alt. ⚰️

That’s how it goes…
