so how big a lift will needed to have to run the new links or is this still to be worked out?

Hard to say until I get it back on the ground. At the moment I think this one is 5"s of lift. The body lift is only needed on this rig because of the tire size. Again this is a coilover system so lift amounts vary depending on the preload you place on the shock/spring. At the moment its shaping up to be 6"s of lift = 6"s of shock at ride ht. While 3"s of lift = 3"s of shock at ride ht.

What size tire does this one have?

Any photos or vdo of the progress? I think that would keep our interest and saliva flowing until you are finished with the end project.

If someone with a stock FJ can tell me what their frame ht is and tire size is I'd have a better idea of what the end result will be.

Mine is stock. Measures between 15" and 15.5" from the ground to the frame at various spots down the side of the vehicle. My tires are 275/70 R16, which I believe may be slightly larger than stock. My springs might have sagged over the 190K mile life too...

Sorry but i have no idea what that means in american standard. Can you tell me how far from the ground the center of the axle tube is to the ground.

Never mine I googled it, looks like 30.6".

So I guess this truck has about a 4" suspension lift on it and Im getting 6.5" of up travel from ride ht. That's of shock travel not wheel travel.

I wheel my truck to get where I am going, not to just see what it will do.

In many instances, getting there requires some butt puckering feats with my 80. I built it up and put all this stuff on it for a reason. I either couldn't get where I wanted to go or I got stuck getting there. I run into those issues very rarely now.
