but I've yet to understand the aversion to coil overs.

When your ride is to stiff, to soft, to low or to high adjust it. When you want to carry more wieght, adjust it. If you've decided you want to go faster, pull the shock apart and adjust it.

Coilovers are also a smaller package than a lift coil and shock.

There is no "Magic" to coilovers other then you can quickly change parts out to get the desired result. Not so with standard coils and shocks. With those, you get what you get.

Exactly, which is why I don't understand why more don't use. Assuming cost considerations.
The magic to a coil over, in my experience, is how quickly the dollars seem to disappear when purchasing.

I'll be 4-linking the rear of my Fzj80 (as you probably know this means relocating the gas tank and exhaust) and 3-linking the front. Question for you, How tall is the tower that you guys currently make for the rear fj80 axle kit for the minis? It looks extremely tall (too tall), I'd want it to sit no more than a couple of inches above the diff. especially b/c I'd want to maximize up travel (6 - 8").

Looks like you guys do some good work and are pretty close to me.

It looks like you do some really nice work! I'd be in, pending reviews of the setup and the price point.

I'd be all over this. I'll drop off my rig this weekend if you still need one!

Drop off the LX on my behalf?

Bear with me, please since I'm new to all things 80, and still haven't had an opportunity to wheel a radius arm rig, but am I incorrect in assuming a 3 link front with a coil over (assuming taller coil tower) would allow for a lower COG and primarily gains in droop travel?

Is that a possibility, or am I missing the advantage y'all are seeking?

Can the rear be established the same way, while leaving the 4 link/ Panhard? Would that require poking holes for a taller coil over?

Ultimate goal is to run 37s while maintaining a low COG and since primarily see on road and crawling, ultimately more focuses on suspension droop.

Id give you mine, but it certainly doesnt represent the average fzj80. Anxious to see what you come up with. im researching going th coil-over route as well. Tired of swapping coils and shocks trying to find the best combo.

You can count me in for a full suspension set-up as long as the price is not outragious! I stripped my 94 80 series to a shell and have pretty much replaced everything that needed tending too with new OEM parts. Even went and and romoved the sun roof and welded it shut with steel. The carpet was removed and the interior was line-x'ed along with the complete exterior. I will be starting the suspension soon! Any idea how long till this project gets going? Im located in Florida but would be honered to offer up my vehicle for fabrication.

Sorry, about the delayed responce, I've been under the mask. Trying to finish up the 1Ton conversion stuff.

The FJ80 tower I have now, will NOT work on an FJ80 chassis. As for uptravel, I would also want about 6"-8" if I had a 5" lift. I works for about 9"s on the mini trucks because the bed is so high, no so with the 80. By the way how much room (tape measure if you'd be that kind) between the bed and top of dif?

It's more than likely, it will be very similar to the mini stuff. I really only have control over the pricing on the brackets, the rest are parts provided to me at my choosing to build whats necassary. Dealer discounts aren't that grand, I certainly not getting rich over here.

Im not poking holes in sheet metal for wagon, pick up sure, wagon NO!

As to what the end result is, will be determind once I get in there.

At the moment 80BajaBound has won this lotto (if you choose to word it that way). He's choosen to do front only. I will stay with him on this for front only unless I can find someone that is willing to do front and rear at the same time or he changes his mind.
