Good job on the trailer! When your in a tinkering mood start loosening the wastegate until you start to see a little drop in boost. If the egt's drop turn the fuel screw in while bumping the wastegate up, might be surprised at the results

Yup! You got it. Loosen the wastegate allowing the exhaust gasses to more freely bypass the turbine, allowing the egt's to drop. Then increase fuel while increasing boost to balance the egt's, kind of a round about way to sneak up on it. But if it was me I'd just crank the fuel screw and see what happens!
I know dropping boost raises EGT, but what if we are staying at the same boost but allowing the wastegate to open? I know this wokred with my little c223t in my pup, but there are a many factors I dont understand.Sorry mate, but that's all wrong.
Dropping boost increases EGT. The idea that EGT is caused by a turbos restriction is false. The contribution of temp due to pressure is minor and completely over-ridden by the loss of intake air density and mass flow.
More boost = lower EGT. It stays this way until you hit the limits of your turbochargers.

Gotcha, that makes sense. Back to me wondering why it worked for me before, or what else changed.Opening the wastegate removes power that is driving the turbine so boost is lost. It's not possible to keep boost the same while opening the gate unless you've just put a lot more rpm on to increase the flow.
Once again the tech of Wheelingnoob proves invaluable. I changed my throttle cable linkage to be similar to his...and the trans shifts great! I don't get why it needs the shorter than spec throw, but it works perfect. View attachment 935680
