Upon further review, I thought hard about the rock rails built by @LandCruiserPhil and decided the lighter weight and better clearance, plus the non-hard core use I put Marjan through makes them the logical, unemotional choice.

I'm getting a set, and possibly think about a new "winch holder" next on my list of things to get ;)

Looking forward to pics. They're definitely intriguing choice. Maybe this is answered elsewhere but would they take a hi-lift jack?

Since they're body mounted and bolt on zey'll pass ze inspection?

My understanding is that reach is the issue with hi-lifts with these.

And if zey don't? I vill remove zem ven ze inspection!!! happens, and put zem back on afterverds...

I have nothing much to add except did you go the BushTaxi (or something like that) forum board? Might be a good resource for your current location issue.

I do belong to Buschtaxi.

They don't sell things there, unfortunately.

The 80 series here are almost all diesel and require completely different sliders to make work.

In that case, start sending them Diesel engines home like Radar did on M.A.S.H. Chop ,chop.....

APO shipping is a bit of a pain but you have a set of rails on the way. They fit the need of many and myself and I hope you find they work well for you. No they do not offer much in the way of side protection but from the bottom (where contact is most likely) they do an excellent job of protecting your pinch weld and rockers. One scratch on your rail and they just paid for themselves.

I been full range when it come to sliders pictured are the sliders off my old 80. Custom build to withstand a nuclear bomb equipped with custom hi-lift pocket (worthless IMO but look) that doubled as steps to get in.

I now wheel much harder and Im challenged to even make contact with my rails. Now with a lot less lift and smaller tires (35's) I have about the same amount of clearance without something in my way when I get in or out. I wheel a lot and rarely do I ever see the need to us a Hi-Lift (that I dont carry) on a slider for any reason. Rails are not the solution for everyone but most dont know what they can get by without. They have no problem showing off their heavy duty armor that dont even need or ever use in many cases.
