I've been back and forth on getting some BB skids for a while now, but this seems too good to pass up! Put me down for a full set of skids in steel, powdercoated. Thanks much!

Okay, I'm in for steel/lite steel prepped and sanded + diamond plate step sliders. That should be ~$2050 before shipping, and some 314 lbs of added weight?

The cost and weight of every skid piece varies. List the items separately and I’ll take a look for you.

Blew the doors off of this one! Thanks for putting this together @ty240 .

This is really good deal. Better than BF's free shipping (though that may depend on the ship-to distance).

@ty240 thanks and nice job getting this together for us. Question regarding the discount for partial skids. Now that the full quota has been reached would purchasing just the transfer case skid plate qualify for the discount ?

In for a full set of skids! (Material TBD) Can attest to the quality of the components as well as the people/customer service at Budbuilt after having a full set on our FJ cruiser for years.

The examples stated were direct from Rob so it is my understanding that multiple pieces would need to be purchased.

There’s been an overwhelmingly positive response to the group buy. We thought 6 buyers would be great and 11+ wishful thinking. So thanks everybody for participating!

That said there are challenges for a small business that come with so many prospective buyers. The outlay for raw materials is considerably more than anticipated. Also the more interested parties, the higher the number that will invariably drop after the close of the group buy.

We’ve discussed different ways to alleviate potential issues and I brought up the idea of paying a nominal deposit. Perhaps 20% of your total order or a few hundred dollars, with the remainder to be charged upon shipping.

This is up for a discussion so please give me your input!

Happy Holidays fellow mudders!

Every time I've ordered from them, the order isn't real until I put in my credit card and commit to buy. Why is this different? Wouldn't you all need to fully commit with a means of payment up front?

I am standing by to send in my order, assuming that you will PM everyone a specific discount code? Is the issue cash flow on their end to cover material costs for such a large group of orders all coming in at the same time? If so, I am ok with something like a 20% initial hit on the card, with the rest charged when it is shipped.

This would be correct under normal circumstances. However in this case there needs to be a minimum number of participants in order to receive the discount. All of us have given a verbal (or written) commitment, but have not provided our personal credit cards. As such there is no guarantee the number of actual buyers. Worst case scenario would be a few buyers given the 15% + 25% discount and the remainder dropping out. Then BudBuilt would be taking a bath on the buy. To be fair I don’t believe 200/201 mud members would do such a thing, but it’s a possibility nonetheless.

Another idea is offering a limited time (a week?) after the close of group buy to place the order and provide means of payment. This will ensure actual buyers and then production will start thereafter.

Thanks for your thoughts! Merry Christmas CharlieS!

The discount will most likely be a code. If you need consultation or assistance then you can also place a call to Rob and mention your user name for the discount.

The deposit would help with raw materials and ensuring the number of buyers for the discount.
Thanks for the quick response USMCVader! Happy Holidays!

I'm fine with a deposit up to 25%. It helps me forget how much I'm spending when I break it up into multiple payments anyway 😂

The deposit is just a discussion for now. As it wasn’t discussed initially, it’s only fair

Thanks for the offer sagebrush200! This is just a discussion at the moment so more to follow.

Perhaps the best thing would be to limit the amount of time to make payment to a week after close of the group buy. If the number of actual buyers doesn’t hit 11+ minimum then everybody will have the choice of backing out or accepting a lesser discount. Everybody okay with that? This way no deposit is required.

Let me know your thoughts!

My 200 is currently being built. I’d go for the front to back package, especially at 40% discount!

let me know how to take advantage.
