I am in for a full set of skids. Undecided on material at the moment. Probably aluminium for the front and the gas tank and heavy steel for the rest.

I'm in on full skids (probably aluminum with the front piece PC), shock guards, and PC sliders.

I ordered a full set of aluminum skids last year, a great product

Ok, thought it over, and the stage 3, 3/16 steel, sanded and ready for paint wins. Please put me down for that, assuming all the math put forward by others above is correct.

Let me figure out how I want to go. I have Bud Built skids on my FJC and was looking at them for the 200

So 30% off full skids if we make it to 6 buyers, and up to 40% off if we hit 11 buyers?

If my understanding is correct put me down for a full set of skids in Aluminum.

It will either by 30-40% or slightly less depending on how the discounts are calculated. This will be up to budbuilt. For example 15% off for the complete skid set and then an additional 15-25% group buy discount thereafter, or straight 15% + 15-25% combined. The difference is minuscule, but don’t want to mislead anybody.

Okay, so, if I'm putting together the "cheapskate" package:

  • A full set of skid plates in the cheapest configuration (bare metal steel / light steel) is $1,100.75 with the 15% set discount
  • With an additional 15% off, $935.65
  • Add in either of the sliders for $1,099 discounted, non powder coated
So I'm at $2,034.65 with the sliders at a minimum, or for true cheapos $$1,459.65 with the discounted plates + rock rails. Any chance the rails are getting discounted too?

If what you did was add up the price of every piece individually, then yes, the total should be correct. I haven’t taken the time to price anything as I’m on the fence regarding materials. Please make sure to take shipping into account.

Rock rails are not included in the group buy as they are nearly sold at cost or below! Pricing may change on them soon for those that are interested in the rock rails.

Does the discount work on: ROCK ARMOR - STAGE 3 | 2008-2021 LAND CRUISER AND LX570 ?

For bare steel: 1,199.00 - 15% - 15% = $866. (shipping another $200)

I would be interested if it works on the stage 3 deal. I was just looking at the ARB kit (3mm steel) for $595 Shipped. I rather get the Bud Skid since its much beefer.

It seems the stage 3 rock armor set reflects an already discounted price vs buying the 5 pieces separately. So I’d assume only the group buy discount would apply.

Edit: Seems the Lexus category was not properly updated like the Toyota category. There will no longer be a rock armor or overland skid packages. Not sure when the website will reflect the changes. All sets will be sold individually so you’re able to tailor the materials to your specific needs. The website discount of 15% will be the same as the Toyota discount.

Make sure you post this in the Group Buy section to get more traction

I listed here because the group buy applies to 200/201 series only. Think we’d get more traction adding it to the group buy section as well?

I may be in for stage 2 overland protection. Can't decide on 1/8 or 1/4. Would also get shock guards. Please follow up with me when a decision needs to be made.

The commitment to buy is open for two weeks from start date. If we’re close to hitting a threshold then we could possibly extend it. But for now deadline is two weeks.

For clarification, full skids is 5 pieces front to back, including the fuel tank skid. You’d still get the full group buy discount, but only if we hit 11+ buyers.

I would be in for everything except the gas tank plate. Shock guards yes.

I will mix up the materials. Is this going to be a problem for Rob? Seems like there is some interest but will it mess with production if everyone is ordering the same but different?

If enough people do pull the trigger do we just contact him ourselves with some sort of code. This is a dumb question but can someone who is not on this forum be included in this deal. My buddy has a taco and he might be interested.

I just got my sliders this past saturday. He told me expect them mid-end of January 2021. No complaints for an early delivery.

For clarification, full skids means 5 pieces front to back, including fuel tank. You will still receive the full discount as long as we hit 11+ buyers.

Mixing of materials isn’t an issue. Please feel free to mix and match depending on your needs.

I don’t have details regarding how the discount will be applied. This was sort of put together on a whim. Rest assured, if you’re on the list then you will receive the discount one way or another. Details to follow.

Anybody is welcome to the discount, but it only applies to 200/201 series Cruisers.

Update:

We are at 8 committed buyers of the full skids. Only need two more to hit the maximum discount. I haven’t added names for those that committed to incomplete skids yet. Need to confirm 10 full skid buyers as a requisite first.

Thanks for the clarification. I noticed the Stage 2 is now gone as others have mentioned. My math may be off, but the pricing with the group buy appears to be about what the old "staged" pricing was.

I'm in on full skids. combination of ss and alu.

Put me down for full skid (Steel)!

Based on the website formatting, my guess is that there will be a coupon generated for group buy. Makes payment and mix/match-material/color easy. Hopefully it is that simple.

That was an error. The package and pricing for Toyota parts was changed some time ago to reflect current market conditions and price of raw materials. The Lexus category was unfortunately overlooked. Anybody who purchased the Lexus package got an excellent deal!

Wow, I bought all this stuff (Sliders, Skids and shock guards) at full price. Worth every penny. If you don't have any BB stuff yet, time to JUMP on this deal!

After a bit more thought and number crunching, and more driving around today on salty roads up here, going to shift mine to stainless steel.
