I know the answer to the following question is "Get an ARB", but funds are low so that will have to wait. Anyway, are the brush guards worth anything or are they mounted with enough strength to actually provide some protection?

No. They will usually cause more damage due to the fact that the wings are weak and will bend into the body at the slightest provocation, thereby damaging the hood, fenders and lights, instead of just the bumper.

Then, wait it is, Grasshopper.

Please don't spend your money on a damage multiplier. Save it for the real deal:

Man, that looks good. But we're talking about $700.00 and then I'd need another $800.00 for OME. And I just spent $$$ on rims and tires. Add all that up with the divorce lawyer I'd need and I don't see one in my near future. Oh the pain!!! Oh well, at least I have factory locking diffs.

Dont ever put one of those on your truck. I had a head on collision with one in a HEEP and instead of bouncing off the bumper , the other truck hooked on to one of the legs on the brush guard , pushing it into the engine cuting through the engine, hood, side panel - disabling the truck. in an other wise minor hit. Just hold off until you can do it right. I am going ARB when I get the $$$

Get an ARB ;)

Unless you get the damage multiplier used, you'll still end up spending a few hundred on one. Save up for the ARB. You just missed the sale of a used one in Buggerville, NJ...if you keep your eyes open, you might find another one come up for sale again.

The build up will take time...and if you think $700 for a front bumper is a lot...wait until you start shopping for a rear bumper with a swingout tire carrier

:)

Ohhh the horror :crybaby: :crybaby: my boy won't be able to go to college due to my rear bumper purchase. Oh well there is always jr. college. :D

Seriously though, save up for an ARB. I had to scrimp and pass on my mocha capacinos(sp) for over a year to get mine.
