Hey Guys

We hear lots of horror stories of bringing our rigs to mechanics, i figured i would share a GOOD one for a change!

I am usually the "No One Touchs My Rig But Me" guy, but between starting up the biz, building the race truck, and working full time, i have not had the time to properly prep my rig for the upcoming 1000 and didnt have any free time coming up on the horizon.

I have been embarassingly lax on the love i have giving my rig, and it has been starting to show.

To get it properly ready for 3000+ miles of Baja abuse, it needed a SOLID go through for piece of mind if nothing else!

After hearing nothing but praise about them, i contacted San Diego Trux (www.sdtrux.com) based here in SD. They are sponsoring our race effort, so i figured i would try them first.

I talked with John, the owner, and explained what the rig was going to see for abuse, what i thought it needed, what he thought it needed, and etc... I felt confident that he was the guy to help get my ready for this adventure so i scheduled an appointment!

He was able to pick the rig up @ my house during the day (i have been working 12 hour days), have the entire thing gone through and repaired and less then 2 days and dropped back off at my house.

They gave it a real solid go through:

-Brakes (new pads, turn rotors)
-Brake System Flush
-Coolant Flush
-Replace Rear Wheel Bearings
-Installed Rear Air Bags for additional load i will be carrying down there
-Replaced all rear wheel studs

The truck drives night and day better and i am most happy with it!

I also need to mention that he took it upon himself to tidy up some wiring and properly trim and loom it at no charge because he wanted it all perfect!

Their attention to detail and pride in their work is top notch and i wont hesitate to bring my rig back there for anything it may need!

Anyway, thats my story

Huge thanks to John and Crew @ www.sdtrux.com

:D :D :D

Yeah, John did a great job last month giving my vehicle a TRUE full inspection when I took it in for front brakes and an oil change to get my rig ready for Death Valley. And best of all they are only a few blocks from my work!

GOOD LUCK next week Kevin and TAKE OUT THOSE HUMMERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I want to see Team Cruiser and Team Tundra go 1 & 2 respectfully.

All I'm hearing is good things about the guys at sdtrux. Next time I need work done this is where I'm going, even if it means renting a car.

yep

Im headed in there this morning to resolve the lockers and yeah Dan im right there with ya, I decided to have fun so I am renting as Mustang:D.

Man you must be really busy bro to take your stuff in! I know you are a good mechanic and do all your own work. Glad to hear that you found good work and reliability in SD trux. If i was in the area i'd take my rig there. Thanks for the 411.

Glad to hear, makes me wish I lived closer. :)

x2!

Nice new avatar Smitty!!

Gracias! He turned 6 mos. 2 days ago. Now if I could just figure out where half a year went!

Sorry for the hi-jack Kevin.

Yea like YOU would ever let someone else touch your rig
:flipoff2:

Hey you always have to have a back up plan. ;) What if I got hit by a truck and couldn't work on my own rig.:flipoff2:

Sorry Kevin.

Yep, I have taken my 80 there a few times and have been very satisfied. Highly recommended.

My brother took his 100 Series there to have the starter fixed/replaced. They tried to save him some green and just replace the contacts but no dice it still did not work. They basically had to pull the starter twice, which if any knows on a 100 series is a pain in the ass. They were with in 2 dollars of the initial quote. He was very happy with their service and will use them again.
