Hey Guys
We hear lots of horror stories of bringing our rigs to mechanics, i figured i would share a GOOD one for a change!
I am usually the "No One Touchs My Rig But Me" guy, but between starting up the biz, building the race truck, and working full time, i have not had the time to properly prep my rig for the upcoming 1000 and didnt have any free time coming up on the horizon.
I have been embarassingly lax on the love i have giving my rig, and it has been starting to show.
To get it properly ready for 3000+ miles of Baja abuse, it needed a SOLID go through for piece of mind if nothing else!
After hearing nothing but praise about them, i contacted San Diego Trux (www.sdtrux.com) based here in SD. They are sponsoring our race effort, so i figured i would try them first.
I talked with John, the owner, and explained what the rig was going to see for abuse, what i thought it needed, what he thought it needed, and etc... I felt confident that he was the guy to help get my ready for this adventure so i scheduled an appointment!
He was able to pick the rig up @ my house during the day (i have been working 12 hour days), have the entire thing gone through and repaired and less then 2 days and dropped back off at my house.
They gave it a real solid go through:
-Brakes (new pads, turn rotors)
-Brake System Flush
-Coolant Flush
-Replace Rear Wheel Bearings
-Installed Rear Air Bags for additional load i will be carrying down there
-Replaced all rear wheel studs
The truck drives night and day better and i am most happy with it!
I also need to mention that he took it upon himself to tidy up some wiring and properly trim and loom it at no charge because he wanted it all perfect!
Their attention to detail and pride in their work is top notch and i wont hesitate to bring my rig back there for anything it may need!
Anyway, thats my story
Huge thanks to John and Crew @ www.sdtrux.com
