Hey all, I was replacing fluids yesterday getting ready for a road trip this weekend, and when using one of those strap oil filter removal tools, this little piece fell off and I cannot for the life of me figure out where it goes. It seems to have a spring under the the metal plate. I'm assuming this coincides w/ my oil pressure gauge no longer working.

2) Didn't have any luck w/ finding another forum for this, but has anyone changed their PS pump hoses to AN style? Will rubber and push-lock be fine or do I need to replace with PTFE? No idea what caused the melting cover, was there when bought from PO.

Cap looks like it came off the front diff breather that is routed up to the frame in that general area.

PS pressure hose needs to be the good crimped high pressure style. OEM Toyota line is pricey but will last 20 years. I hear the NAPA one is decent at a much more palatable price...The return lines are fine to use push lok and AN fittings.

Bless. Diff breather sounds very likely, will check it out tonight.

Thanks for the feedback on the hose too! If the original hose lasted this long, it's probably worth the higher price tag to replace with OEM.

Bypass the front breather box completely, run a oil resistant hose up to the engine bay (starting from the pipe nipple on the axle housing), zip tie it off somewhere out of the way, stuff a small filter in the open end.

Clean out the pipe nipple the breather hose is connected to (on the axle housing) also, remove the pipe assembly and clean it and the threaded hole in the housing, reinstall the pipe.

Clean/wash that area off that's wet, can't tell what's going on in the photo, then post up another photo.
