Broken Hood Lock on 1992 LandCruiser

I've run into a bit of a problem, the hood lock for my cruiser (53510-60020) has broke and been discontinued by Toyota and I've had a lot of trouble finding a replacement part for my truck. Any suggestions on where I can find a replacement and or solve this problem another way?

I haven't done it mind you, but you should be able to replace it with a later model mechanism. You just need something to grab the hood loop when the cable does its thing.

Go to www.partsouq.com to get a part number. It will also show any substitutions available.
