Broken '94 4 runner

By default I endd up with a '94 4 runner 3VZE in my shop. The bottom end is shot. The body is perfect as is the interior. The customer does not want to fix it and I dont have the time to part it out. Is there any value in the truck as it sits? I was thinking it is worth $1500 or so as is

That sounds about right....replacement motor probably kicks in around $2k or so, plus laborage....

Those things seem to be worth a bunch in good shape. I've been looking for one as you describe for a possible 1JZ/2JZ transplant. Too bad you're not near the Windy.
Might be worth looking into Japanese used engines. Many have very low miles compared to US. There are quite a few importers of JDM stuff these days.

jap import engines are flogged senslessly though, especially diesels, as it's all stop start traffic... could be why jap import engines are so cheap.

just chuck the 3.8(or3.6) buick V6 in it (commonly called the commodore v6 in aus). they love them down here.
