just got the o'le girl out for spring. checked fluids and found the rear resevior very low. added fluid. fired her up. pulled out of the barn. "mushy" pedal. she stopped, but pedal almost to floor. no issues prior to today. the pedal gets firmer with consecutive pumps. rechecked res. levels. rear res. looks down mimimally. had the queen come out and pump the brakes. can't see any leaks. rear res. level holding steady. have any of you experienced this? does the system need bled? all suggestions welcome.

hmmmm......

If you had no problems prior to winter storage,my best guess would be to give her some action before you get too involved. After that start w/bleeding the system and then replace your master cylinder. The seals will dry and shrink over time and that could be it?:hmm: Although brakes are very important to stopping so maybe put on a new cylinder, bleed the system and call it good.........:)If you had a low res and then added fluid there is air in the rear line.

high country... air got in over winter because of lack of use, and because of this allowed the seals to crack?
