Hello all,
I have a 1975 40 series with pick up knuckles.
I just upgraded to 92 v6 pick up front calipers, 85 cruiser rotors and a 92 cruiser master. After bench bleeding the master and pressure bleeding the calipers, I still don't have the pedal feel that I expected. Soft and doesn't seem to grab very well.
I should probably mention that my rear has Monte Carlo calipers and I run 38's.
It was a $50 Rock auto Master. Maybe it was bad.
Any insight or personal experience is appreciated.

I love Rock Auto, but sometimes new parts aren't up to snuff these days. $50 seems way to cheap for a new MC - more in line with a "re-manufactured/rebuilt unit.

So if you can stand on the pedal and it doesn't keep sinking, that would tell me the MC is good and the issue is at the wheel cylinders. Not bleed enough as in some air still in the lines. Maybe you proportioning valve is set wrong. Maybe your rubber lines are starting to fail and are functioning as a balloon. Look at the calipers and make sure the bleeder it up at the top so it can easily let out the bubbles. Make sure rotors and pucks are oil/grease free.

There are lots of threads on disk brake conversions - read all of them - maybe there is a good answer in one of them.

Check the brake booster rod to MC clearance and adjust it if needed. You can buy a cheap brake booster adjusting tool to make this easy. Do a google search and a multitude of tools will pop up.
